Well things are moving pretty slow and steady around the house. I feel like every project we've started lately is sitting At a stand still just waiting for 1 more thing. Last weekend I think we got a pretty good start again on the master bathroom. We picked out the flooring that will go in both baths an laundry room, but we found out we had to rip up the subflooring to lay the tile.... Another project to get into. We got all that done though and all the miscellaneous sheetrock pieces up, puttied, & sanded.
My mum and Jim came up last weekend to help. Jim and colton got the whole sink ready for install once the floors in and mum and I ripped out a few plants and worked on our tans :)
Today carpet is getting installed and the bathroom flooring should be here Thursday. That means by the end of next weekend the master bath and the bedrooms will have carpet and moulding up..... Finally there's some end in sight.
Last Friday night Colton an I decided to take a beak from the house. Our friend Amy was having a 30th birthday bash in Portland. The theme was the 80's with rainbow bright an carebear decorations. You had to dress from the 80's too. So Friday before we headed down we went to goodwill :) I found some super high waisted flare jeans and a spicy hot pink ruffled shirt that I tucked in and to complete the outfit I curled my hair under even my bangs! Colton's outfit was just as perect with some skinny slim grey converse pants, a highlighted blue and green stripped shirt a dress vest, black converse shoes, white tape around the middle of his glasses and of course the most greasy slicked back hair you could imagine.
Hows that picture treating you? Dying laughing yet?
Well it was super fun and a great time for some laughs and to be silly. Last night we went to garrett and Amys for dinner it's great to have such close friends up here with us . I just wished they lived a little closer . Amy got his really great job at the Longview hospital so maybe they'll will be moving closer :)
Sorry I don't have any pictures this time I'll make sure to get a few up before the weekend. But things are crazy around here As always. Were heading south Thursday for coltons root canal and to drop kimber off at my brothers for the weekend. Then we're heading north to whistler for the MUSTASh MULLET TOUR with Adam an Nicole. We're all super excited!!
Have a safe and happy 4th everyone. It's so crazy to me that June is over, July is starting and it's still cold and raining. The weather man says it's suppose to be clear sunny and 75 all next week though. About freaking time :)

Cooooley's come to help!!
Well the Cooleys and the Tenbush's. That same weekend Brian, Libby, an Evie came with the flooring Adam and Nicole came up too.
Adam modeling with the new pocket door. He came up a couple weeks before this and helped colton frame it all in
Yep it works!
This was the major project the boys were working on. How many boys do you think we can fit in it?
After along days work the three of them got all the walls done
Cheez balls :-)
Finished product (without grout) I love it!!
Last Sunday Colton ventured with me to Ikea to figure out our sink situation. We ended up figuring something out and I can't wait to post the finished product. Until then.... Colton tore out the wall and is getting all the piping ready. This bathroom only had one sink; we're making it have 2.
Miss Evie was a super big help all day. She loved being in the middle of everything and making sure we were all doing it right. She helped me load the brush in the wheel barrel and dump it on the fire. She thought she was working so hard that she had to have a tank on....no jacket :-)
Thanks so much everyone for a super fun weekend. I loved hosting everyone and it was great to catch up on some girl talk. I can't wait for more work parties and maybe some day just some fun sleep overs.

Details Make Everything Better
Here are just a few snap shots of some details around the house
These are some paint colors we've decided on: the far right is "off-white" for the ceilings, the blue is for the laundry room and front bathroom, brownish tan color is the main color for the WHOLE house, and the green is the back bedroom
Here's our carpet we've choose for the three bedrooms. It's being installed next Tuesday......I'm super excited that it will start looking like we are accomplishing something
Our flooring!!! This is SOLID hickory I found during a random shopping trip to Jerry's with my sisters. We spotted it I called for approval and the next weekend Brian, Libby and Evie hauled this 1ton (estimated @ pickup) pallet of wood to our house from Eugene. Its going in the hallway, kitchen, living, dining and den.
Another awesome find at Jerry's. This one Brian installed in the Master bedroom and I got another one for the den. Super sleek and modern.....just the way I like!
The blue color under the fan was up for about 2 weeks before I painted the whole wall yesterday. After multiple debates and welcomed opinions I decided to just go with it
A "foresters" bouquet". These were a special surprise Colton brought home for me after a hard days work. I love all the wild flowers and of course the orange flagging tape :) Thanks baba
Thanks Tenbush family for being such troopers and hauling our flooring up. I wish Jerry's was closer Libby and I've decided its the best place for remodeling.
Long Last updates
I know all of these pics have been seen by someone, but this has been part of our time line with house remodeling.
The first weekend we were in the house a new edition to the Cooley family arrived...baby Tessa. I can't believe how different she looks from when Kaylie was a baby. Its always exciting to see what will "pop" out :-)
Also in May we ventured South to Brownsville for Evies birthday party on Saturday and Payton's party on Sunday. It was a fun filled event with very little pictures taken by me (I'm still getting use to this). Here is a few SUPER funny pics of Evie the morning of here party........ Colton and I got here some really cute Keen sandels and a ring pop
Both were a major hit...as you can tell!!

Remodeling Begins
Well we officially received the key to start work on May 10th. We were hoping for the 6th that way we had the weekend to work together, but of course it doesn't always work out like you want it to when you're on the banks schedual. I had taken May 9th - 13th of work so I was raring to go.
When colton finally got the call on Tuesday, I had his stuff from Garrette and Amy's packed and I headed from Cathlamete on a mission; to begin ripping stuff out and a little cleaning too.
When colton got to the house I had everything unloaded and the main areas we'd be using cleaned. Our "campsite" was set-up in the den and work was going to begin the next morning. I had the worst sleep of my life that night...... I got so stuffy and chest congested that I felt like I couldn't breath. The house smelled like smoke really bad and I think I had some major allergies.
With a lack of sleep I made colton's lunch, coffee and told him I was ripping out ALL the molding that day. He left for work and I began a major adrenaline rush.....I had everything ripped out by the time he pulled in.
Thursday, I ripped out all 5 types of carpet and started on the carpet tack edging and all the staples.
Even after a long day of work Colton would come home and scrap popcorn ceiling (every room but kitchen, bathrooms, and den).
By the weekend he had all the ceilings scraped and I had all the staples out. We were ready to start retexturing the ceilings.
Deb (colton's mom) came up for the night on Saturday to help me with some yard work while colton retextured the whole house. Then on Sunday Sherry (my mum) and Jim (my stepdad) came up. Sunday the girls busted out the KILZ in the whole house while Jim and Colton worked on moving the water heater to the garage.

scraping popcorn ceiling
This picture of dirt is soooo disgusting. This is the pile of dirt I swept up from JUST the living room after removing the carpet and carpet pad. To everyone that has carpet in their main living spaces.....this is whats lurking underneath. As the clean freak I am this completely grossed me out. I was glad colton and I decided to put in wood flooring but even if we hadn't this definitely convinced me.
retexturing
Colton did awesome busting out all the texturing in one day. We rented the texture gun from home depot and it was super handy. If you look closely colton has white lipstick on from the sprayer :-) he was covered in it
Now the interior
These two closets will be taken out for expanding the kitchen. So yes we have to move the hot water heater to the garage.
the wood stove is in the den just like our rental house in corvallis. we are hoping to move this to the front living room
front bed room
across from the front bedroom is the laundry room. walk through the laundry room to enter the front main bathroom
front bathroom
back bedroom (the front and back bed are on the front of the house and look out into the front yard) Awesome mirrored closet doors in the two bedrooms also
master bedroom and closet
master bath
The master shower; about 2.5'x2.5' super small and super gross.
I told colton I wasn't even going to attempt to clean this thing. We are using the front bathroom until this is redone :-)
So if you counted correctly there should be 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living, dining, kitchen and den.
With the house and the rest of the property we have about 1.5 acres to eventually raise about 5 chickens, 2 pack goats, and possibly a miniture cow or 2. Of course there is always room for a garden too.
Our charming homestead
The view when you come up the drive and deb getting ready to do some replanting
jail cell front door
monster plants in the front flower bed
view down the driveway with nasty arbs. O yup that little patch of timber on the right is ours
colton couldn't hadle these. I think they lasted for about 2 days!
The drabby, gross looking water shed (I call it the pump house)
As you can see there is some major work to be done.......and thats just the exterior
I can't believe I'm starting this!!
Well I'm finally giving in to all the rave of having a blog. When my mom first asked me about it I didn't think too much about it...then colton started bugging me and I'm giving in. There is so much for us to share with everyone now that I've quit my job to move to Washington with Colton and working on a house.
Yup I'm sure you've all heard by now...Colton bought a house and we are doing some major remodeling. Its ganna be hard work but I think we are both up for it. Kimber definitely is!
I'll try to keep you updated on the progress as best as possible. I love telling family and friends about everything we've been doing but its always more fun to check out the pictures and actually see everything unfolding. Some people think we're crazy and some are more then willing to help. I want to thank everyone for their incouragement we will need every bit of it as we start demo and begin building OUR new home.
Enjoy....luv CRK
