Snow Report - Day 2

Yesterday was definitely an adventure. We woke up to 20 inches of snow, Colton was told to go to work late, and Kimber got lost in the ditch......... not really :) but when Colton threw a snowball she deer hopped into the ditch and disappeared.

Here's some more pictures of our snowy day

The snow made Colton realize he might need to add sides to his wood shed
Looking up the driveway from the main road
Told you.....you can hardly see Kimber

Though the snow was really dry and sticky making it easy to drive-in and didn't stop Colton going to work the other days. After taking these few pictures it started raining and warming up; making everything get slushy. Colton tried going to work about 10am but the rain had already done damage to the dry snow. He did more pealing-out then moving. So after about 20 minutes and 2 different attempts he finally bagged going to work. We cuddle up and watched a movie instead. By late afternoon it hand rained enough to clear the driveway again so outside Colton went. He finally got the truck turned around so we headed to town for a few errands and a drive up Rose Valley.

After a few community service stops: 1) fixing some ditch line on a gravel road to Colton's property and 2) pulling a guy out of his own driveway ditch; we came home.

SNOW Report!!

There's not much to say for this posting except...........WE GOT SNOW!! Not just a skiff either; I mean we really got snow. Here's the snow report for 1200' in Kalama, WA.

Yesterday @ 7:30am - 8 inches; didn't stop snowing all day; heavy snow fall and really big flakes
Yesterday @ 3:30pm - 12 inches; still snowing

The plows finally made it up our road yesterday after Colton left for work, but the only thing they did was baracade the drive way so I had to shovel snow so he could get back in.

I really like this pic; super pretty
Geez a little snow actually makes our house look good :)
 Winter wonderland in the trees

Today @ 6:45am - 20 inches; not really snowing but the wind is blowing

Kimber's been making trails to get around the yard. Its funny because she doesn't really like being outside when its cold but she's loving the snow.

We thought we were going to weasal our way through our first winter without snow but we definitely didn't. Its been fun but now there's so much that you need snowshoes. We are in a winter wonderland and its so pretty. While everyones been freaking out about us staying warm, its actually keeping the house the warmest its ever been (except for summer time :) I guess I don't know whats better: monsoon rain and being able to go somewhere or dry with so much snow you can't go anywhere........ I can't decide but its sure a fun feeling being on a snowy vacation!

A New Kitchen and a New Year

I can pretty much say the the kitchen is COMPLETE!! I was able to through our first New Year's Eve party with a new kitchen. Except for some silly stuff that only Colton and I notice the Kitchen is finished. The upper trim up, bottom trim down, window sill painted and nailed, and of course shelfs up and stocked.....double check :)

I love my new kitchen. Its so crazy to think about what we started with and what we have now. Especially since two immature soon-to-be 24 year olds did it ourselves :)

And to prove it lets take a look back in time......... May 2011 to December 31, 2011

One major thing I wanted to do for my party was some decorations ideas. I went and found some super glittery paper and a circle cutter. Luckily Sarah was here to help because we worked on the circle streamer, the "2012" sign with circle garland for most of the day Saturday. Thanks so much sis could definitely not have done it without you!

Happy 2012 everyone. This year is really going to be crazy for us so get ready because most of you will be involved!!
