A Quick, but BEAUTIFUL Trip

A little road trip south and we ended up the Mackenzie pass to check out Clear Lake. It was so gorgeous there and Kimber loved swimming in the lake. She even got to go out in the Row boat with us. I don't think we could have chose a better day to go.

Don't think that he did all the rowing. I did my share too!

Summer has come and gone, but we still have the memories.

Our Summer in Photos

We raised two pigs with the neighbor
LP & BP (little pig & big pig)

We just had them butchard about 2 weeks ago; weighing in at 237 & 190

We had a camp out on the sand bar with the Beaulaurier (Matt & Nicole)

The pups trying to catch a big one!
A little camping trip into Indian Haven - the misquitos were bad so we need to find a better time of year to go. There were a bunch of little lakes that we buzzed around to and definitely a nice area
We put on a new roof with the help of our awesome family

We even raised 25 more meat chickens! We did this last year and will never go back. Its only a 7-8 week process to raise them and we have chicken for a whole year. I will never buy store bought chicken again unless I have to (if we run out)
Its a haul to get the processed (2 hours to Willamina) but its totally worth it. It takes them about 45 minutes to clean them!!

Sorry I haven't been updating the blog very much. Time is just flying by. I just finished my first year at work and its been awesome. I love the people I work with and its getting busier everyday. I can't believe we are in November and next thing we know it will be Christmas. I love the holidays but I'm not sure how excited I am that they are already here. I am excited though that its 4 months till we go to CABO!!!

I have some more pics to post but I will save them for another day.

New ROOF!!!

Well we can officially say we have a NEW ROOF!!. I can't believe how well it went. We had an amazing crew that literally busted it out. They worked soooo hard that they even had time for a nap on Saturday before dinner.

We even got to have a little sleepover with my niece, Gwynn and my nephew, Payton. Such rascals but Gwynn did a great job helping feed all the hungry workers. I can't believe how big/old she is getting.

The last section got a little tight with everyone trying to get it finished
 Literally butt to butt

Kimber making sure Payton kept it at a safe speed :)

Our AMAZING neighbor came over to take the "Crew" photo

We can't thank everyone enough for all their help. We couldn't have done it without you!!

Gutters our scheduled for Thursday, so I will get some pictures up after that too.

LUVS to everyone that helped make this happen. Hopefully you got enough to get and beer to drink

Roofing Part 1 - Tear Off

Wow!!! What a whirl-wind of a weekend.... Our 4th of July weekend was not all relaxing and sunbathing. Though, we did do a night of camping up near Indian Heaven/ Mt Adams area, went golfing and saw a movie. We also started our roofing project.

We had TONS of help from the Cooley boys, Scotty and my parents. If it weren't for these people, we'd have a lot of work on our hands. The boys got all the roofing off by lunch time, tar-paper up and new gutter flashing and fascia. Adam brought up Tony's SWEET dump truck to haul everything to the dump.

My mom and Sheila even helped keep things cleaned up (that didn't make it into the truck) and cooking. The boys definitely ate well.

Look at all those hard workers

Thanks Sheila - we worked and got lots of chatting in :)

We even got on the ROOF!

I couldn't believe how hard these boys worked and how much they got done. Thank you everyone for all your help. We have Crew #2 coming this weekend to help with the shingles. I can't believe how different our house looks already. Hopefully I can put on a spread just as good as last weekend. I have to keep my workers fueled up!!
